TI-83 Graphic Calculator, strange problem

Hey everyone,

Well, I own a TI-83 and its recently been acting strangely.
I turn it on and everything is ok, until I write too much and it has to scroll down, then these Black Lines start appearing all over the place, kinda like these |||||.
If I enter the Graph mode, everything is mixed up, nnumbers take weird shapes and stuff like that.
I doubt anyone would know how to fix this, let alone the root of the problem, unless you've owned one and had the same problem.

Any help will be greatly apreciated, thanks for at least reading this

 

Have you tried resetting it?

2nd, "+" key, 7.

 

Yeah i just did, does'nt seem to make a difference, well at least i know how to reset ram now

 

Do you play games on it?

 

Change Batteries? Got a data cable for it to hook it to a PC? You could reflash the OS on it. Dont recall if the 83s had that. My 84+ SE and 89 Titanium have USB ports.

 

No i do not play games on it, i have a TI-82 that works perfectly but well... I would'nt want to put a 83+ at waste. And i use the same batteries on my 82 to test out the 83
TI-83+s come with a connector for calculator to calculator, but not from calc to comp.
Although I can purchase one from a "staples" store. What should I do if i get one.

It sucks that the screws on the calc are so god damn tiny none of my screwdrivers work on it, so i can't check if its a problem inside the hardware.

The Ti site contains the calculator software. Best to check and make sure they have the OS available for download.
