    Well , hello everyone.

At my local computer store I have customised a computer , I wanted to know if it will be able to handle most stuff now-a-days and future things. Opinions welcome. I will be playing games such as warcraft III and championship manager, not really the best games.

    So far it's a
    Processor :AMD Athlon x2 3800+ (AM2)
    Memory : Kingstone 1024 ddr2 533mhz ram (2x512mb Dual channel)
    Harddrive : Seagate 250GB 7200rpm S-ATAII 300
Graphics card : Radeon x850 xt PE
Sound card : Audigy 2 Platinum

Oh and I wanted to know what motherboard to choose out of
    Asrock ALIVESATA2ATXAM2
    or
    Gigabyte GA-M55plus-s3g
The computer comes with the Asrock motherboard but for £15 more I can choose the Gigabyte motherboard. Is it worth it? What's the difference? Whats the advantages and disadvantages?

One last thing , the computer only comes with a 350w PSU , what PSU should I buy in the future? Recomendations please :D

I know it's not the best p.c but it's all I can afford. Thanks

i can only recomend buying a 1x 1024 mb ram.

    instead of 2x 512 mb.

maybe 2x512 is abit faster, but i dont think it can be noticed, but if and when you want to opgrade you can not use them. and have to buy 2x 1024 insted. insted of just being able to throw in another 1x 1024 mb.
unless ofcource youre mother board can take more than 2 GB and have more than two DDR2 slots.

i have had this problem. and have now lying useless in my draw.

and yes the power surply is low.i would get min 500-550 watt.

but if youre not thinking of opgrading later with fx. more harddrives, DVD burners, bigger vidiocard, i think it should be enof,

but still i am a noob. so maybe dont listen to me.

yea, def go for one gig stick so u can upgrade to 2 gigs in the future. also, id consider a newer video card. the x850 is still a strong performer but doesnt support newer features like shader model 3.0 or DX10 (only 2 have DX10 now though lol) Try looking for a 7900GS/GT, those are good budget cards that will outlast and outperform the x850

yes the 7900Gt will play any of the latest games on medium-high settings. Why not go dual-core? Faster game performance.

it is a dual core ya doofus....lol jk man...:p unless u meant core 2 duo?

o and by the way, i may have to smack ya because of your avatar, colts are gonna dominate the bears. I still think the cowboys are the best though lol

Sorry, I get confused between dual core and core 2 duo sometimes.

And no, your wrong, as so were 8 ex-NFL players who all predicted the Saints were gonna win. Look what happened. Saints fans complained the field gave them a disadvantage. We ran most of our td's, and the Saints supposedly could outrun our defense. Didnt happen. Colts got lucky, thats all I will say. And they will have to wait till next year. As for the Cowboys, Romo is to blame, fumbling that ball like that. What a move.

I'd say swap out the AMD for a Intel Core 2 Duo, they are amazing to be completely honest, they use less power, they are extremely fast and for the most part run pretty cool. Even the cheapest Core 2 out performs most AMD processors.

Oh and Grossman is the only thing holding back the Bears, he doesn't deserve to be in the Superbowl in my opinion.

Grossman is underlooked by everyone, but hes brought the team this far, unlike Brees and Brady, who are "better" than him. Grossman led the Bears to victory over the Saints, and he will win it for the Bears no doubt

Hehe, thanks for all of your replies. Just one last question , what motherboard
    Asrock ALIVESATA2ATXAM2
    or
Gigabyte GA-M55plus-s3g <-- cost £15 more , will I see more performance or isn't it worth it?

well are you going wiht the dual core 3800 or you gonna upgrade to core 2 duo?

i would go with the GIGABYTE, it looks to me from what i researched that it will perform better

I'm going to go with the athlon x2 3800+ , I can't really afford much more. But I could afford £15 for the gigabyte motherboard. Thanks for all of your replies.
