Timer VB6

I am really new at this and I need help. I am wonder how i can make something wait before it happens (example) lblBOB = "Bob is Comming" WAIT 5 SECONDS lblBOB = "Bob is comming for you" something like that. I want to make something stop for a few seconds before it starts again, but without hitting no other buttons.

Can you please explain what I would do within the Timer

 

I want to make message which will appear in a label box, to slowly appear like

bob is (5 second wait) comming for you <---- Something like that and I was told to use a timer how do I do this, I've never used the timer before

 

You really need to start trying to wrap your head around object oriented programming. I don't mean to sound rude, but it's really the only way to say it. The timer control is a component that you can add to the form in VB6. Controls are objects. Objects have properties and methods.

Look up Timer Control in the VB6 help. I don't have VB6 installed right now or I'd do it for you.

Once you drop the control on the form, you will be able to set its' interval so you can display your message when the timer has elapsed.
