to buy or not to buy

Hi every one ,i have given up on my sound problems ,tried to do a clean install but do not have the disk,sooooooooo i can buy this Hp Pavillion A810n desktop,it hasAMD Athlon 64 processor 2.14 Ghz,1 gig ram,160 HHd Win 7 ultra all updates ser.pk 3 dvd/cd rw burner cd rom 48 speed multi card reader 2 firewire ports nero 7 winzip.Asking price 125. obo.What is your opinion and how old would this machine be. Time is of the essense. Thank You , Tom

 

I've rehab'd a few older systems over the past couple years with either AMD Athlon 64 or Pentium 4 CPUs. For general office/web use they run Win 7 OK but I would up the ram to 2Gb. I did on the systems I rehab'd . That A810 has onboard video with only 128Mb. The board does have an AGP slot and you can still get AGP video cards (Newegg.com still has a bunch) so that's an option.

I'd offer $90-$100. For another $100 you could get a 256mb AGP video card and another Gig of memory.

Thanks scajjr,i think i will probably buy a new outfit, more money but at least it will be new.If i was more computer savvy i would buy it but that is not the case. Thanks for your opinion. Tom
