I read your tutorial about True Image, but still have a doubt (Eventhough my mother tonge is Spanish -for some reason the TI installed is in Spanish???-I could not understand this). The million bucks question: How do I make the image in the slave HDD bootable??? Because I installed and made the image and made the disk and I coud not restart the rig. Thanks for your answer.

By this you mean you've created the 'Bootable Rescue Media'?

If so, what type of media did you use: floppy or CD?

Is your BIOS configured to boot from that type of media? You would use the software on the rescue disk to restore your image onto a HDD.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I made the CD and Yes, if I use the Xp disk I can boot from that, but not from the TI disk.

Hmmm... would verify your boot order just to be 100% certain its correct, and if it is, I would burn the disc again. (Would say at a lower speed, but no such option in Acronis)

'fraid I'm not sure what else to advise you. If your disc consistently fails, you may want to try getting support from Acronis themselves.

Just to clarify, the True Image (the CDs or DVDs you burned) that you make as an image of your hard drive will not be bootable. You need to go through the TI program and create either a 6-floppy set or one CD called a rescue CD. You put this in and the Acronis screen comes on. It takes awhile but the Acronis TI program loads into RAM disk, that it creates, then you use this to restore the image you have burned.
I have made several 6-floppy and CD rescue media and I have never had one that had a problem loading Acronis.
