wow, looks really nice where you are :) and nice shirt :p

We had a "hawiian pig roast thing" at me local pub the other day. Nice food... served by a load of drunken regulars, lol. Not quite as good as the real thing though!

Oh yes, and windows = easy once you get "the hang" of how it works. After that its just the weird little niggles that annoy you, like not being able to delete Outlook Express... even though you've never ever used it. Heh :D

Awesome pic.... When I got out of high school I spent 6 months in Kailua, working for my uncle. I think it was my parent's idea of keeping me out of too much trouble, to send me someplace I didn't have any bad influences to run around with :D Hawaii is the best place to go do nothing though ;)

not fair, i have to live in central NY, which as you might know, is known for the worst weather in the states! The only thing I have of paradise might be my background. This was a beautiful pic, and I wish i could be there!

    P.S. It's raining and 64F right now!

we have snow at the top of the mountains in the winter. people go and play in the snow in the morning and drive back to the beach with truck loads so we can make snowmen on the sand. they dont last long of course but its fun to do, and gives the small kids a 'taste' of winter.

  20. NeoNemesis

    NeoNemesis Moutharrhea

    cool!

:: yeah here we sure do get a huge taste of winter though. (like 1' 1/2") on average

Agree with Kodo, great view. How come you are stuck inside surfing when you could be outside surfing. Maybe there are sharks and barracudas under that calm water...

yes and no, there are 'things' in the water but only in certain places. i spend more time outside than i do in believe me (thats why im so busy,....i never get anything actually DONE!). as for "real' winters, don't forget I've spent most of my life shivering in the rain in england. we do get spectacular storms tho. there are only 160,000 people on this whole island, and by and large they don't notice the loss of technology when it goes out. lol i don't surf. too old to learn and have no desire to spend weeks getting covered in cuts, bruises, and rock rash trying to do so. i tend to swim close to shore on a few select 'safe' beaches as I'm not a strong swimmer and the sea 'takes' people. the land here is also like the sea. unpredictable and inherently dangerous in its beauty. actually demands more respect than the city. aloha

How did you get transplanted from that green and pleasant land, those dark satanic mills called England to Hawaii?
    ---------
AND did those feet in ancient time
    Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
    On England's pleasant pastures seen?

    And did the Countenance Divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
    And was Jerusalem builded here
    Among these dark Satanic mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold:
Bring me my arrows of desire:
Bring me my spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire.

I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
    Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.

laurieb you are so fortunate. If it is at all possible can you package up some of that beautiful sunshine and your smile to brighten up my day? It's kinda dreary over here.

    That's nothing!

If you want beautiful beaches and people come over to Western Australia. This state alone has 20,000 miles of lovely coastline. White sands and blue waters. And plenty of warm days, trust me. Some of the worlds best fishing; boating and surfing.

Be nice if I had time to go out and enjoy it once in a while.

(I, too have spent most of my life in the U.K. and U.S. so I sympathise!(But not too much! - Heh!, heh!)

LoL! - That doesn't surprise me. The stupidity of the Dept. of Tourism as well as most of the Govt. Depts. holds no bounds.

But the Hillaries pic. sure as hell aint Hawaii. It’s one of the local beaches I used to go with the family many a time.
