After a bout with some virul problems (which you helped me out of, thank you) I have a lot of tools loaded. Do I still need them all?

    I have the following:
    CCleaner
    ATF-Cleaner.exe
    a-squared Free
    SpywareBlaster
    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    Spybot - Search & Destroy
    SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition
    RegCure

I am also running Norton 360. I don't like it much, but I have about a year to go on the subscription.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi

That lot is OK, while many do not like Norton, in its 360 form its OK, but many of the freebies ( as in AVG , AVAST +PC Tools Firewall etc etc ) do much better an save more system resources to boot, so worth a thought when renewal time is up.

Do take a read of this How to Protect yourself from malware!

Thanks, Halo. I will take a look at the info suggested and check out what else is available when my Norton 360 subscription is up.

TBH, and while Norton 360 is OK! their are better free solutions, and many of us use these to great effect, so yes do seek out the freebies once Norton 360 is up.

One good one to use from the list I gave you and will not effect anything is Spywareblaster as it juts adds knw bad sites to your exceptiond list in IE or Firefox so those sites will not add malware to your PC, the app doesnt run so is great, just needs updating manually once a week.
