I have been through the malware removal stuff and am free of that crap on my system. During the process
I put a lot of programs on my computer, augmenting what I already had resident as protection. Now I have a
lot of things running, running on startup and possibly confilcits with processes. My brouser (IE6) has been
running slower, as do functions that don't require internet.
The instructions from TimW in the malware room include...
"YOu can uninstall all of these:"

    ashwclnr.exe
    avenger.exe
    mbam-setup.exe
tfinstall.exe --won't uninstall.. error message reads "unable to create a temporary file, setup
aborted. error 5: access is denied"
"There is no need to keep HJT ..."

except that they're not on the uninstall menu.. can I just delete them?

The other programs installed that I'm not sure if I need running.. or just here for scanning
    when I clean up are:
    *Avast AV
    *Spybot
    *RegCleaner
    *Ad-Aware 2007
(these are the ones I use(d) frequently)
    now the rest
    A. from the uninstall menu
    Assassin SE
    Comodo BOClean
    CCleaner
    online armor 2.1
    SpywareBlaster 4.0
**and not on the uninstall menu
    BugOff

I was there today.. the malware removal threads. When I encountered removing programs that are not on the uninstall menu, they sent me to software.

    oops
I'm sorry I wasn't clear Mark... lets try this again

Bug Off and ashwclnr.exe are not on the uninstall menu

ThreatFire is on the uninstall menu however when I attempt to remove it I get an error message

"unable to create a temporary file, setup
aborted. error 5: access is denied"

After I read your first reply, I went ahead and removed CCleaner.

yes, I have backed up the system, (restore point) however, I wasn't able to run regcleaner.. it crashed on startup. My plan was to uninstall and reinstall regcleaner after I got the redundant programs off the computer.

CCleaner was one of thoes programs

Then your next post said to use it.. when it was already removed .. I can reinstall it.
