Toolbars Goog,aol, & yahoo

I am looking through alot of the logs in the malware forum and am noticing a pattern, most seem to have some sort of toolbar. Is this a cause of many of the problems? At school there are always one of these toolbars on each of the computers at school as well.

 

The toolbar itself should not pose any problems. though it may just be a coincidence that you see alot of toolbars in the logs of the malware forum. Alot of programs nowadays try and get you to install these toolbars alongside their program, so i wouldnt be surprised if someone who doesnt know much about comps has a toolbar or 2, because they didnt know to uncheck the "Install this toolbar" option.

so i would of thought someone who does not know much about keeping comps secure would have a few spyware/malware, and most probably didnt uncheck the install toolbar option when installing their latest app, therefore they would have both malware & toolbars

though this is all just speculation

 

I didn't think of that. I have almost made the mistake of not unchecking a box with a "free" toolbar myself.

 

it's a matter of fact that third-party IE addons may present an issue regarding the privacy policy usually recommended for basic users. People should aware that things which seem to be free actually are not..
