Tor Browser Opinions?

Anyone use Tor?

We all use Firefox but some friends swear by Tor and it (supposed) security...before I go through the hassle of switching I'd like the experts opinion(s).

There are many expert reviews and you can find them easily with a simple 'Reviews of Tor Browser' web search.
But the only useful review will be your own when using it and seeing how you get on with it.
'Security' is not the issue with Tor - all the latest updated browsers have significant security aspects and your own system security - it is surfing anonymity, that is the point of Tor.

 

Yes, I could've searched for on-line reviews and did however I wanted the opinion for folks here because I trust this forum and have never been let down or mislead by the advice I've gleaned here. As well, I view anonymity as part of my over-all security, not a separate entity.

I've used it but it's not my cup of tea, and it won't work on many websites, and I don't view 'anonymity' on the web (ie my IP address, thereby giving a location) as that important.
For sure security from 'malware', and 'anonymity' when surfing, are two very different things, not to be confused with each other.
