It was located to a very small area thankfully. They had a small twister in Gloucester last week, my parents told me. Small damage to houses, no one hurt thankfully.

Thanks for the thoughts Bazza mate but while we had high winds up north, I'm 200+ miles from London, so out of the twisters path.

I know.. whats with this weather, thought we had global warming thing going on and the UK would be like Sunny Spain.

But you guys in AUS, get some nasty weather too, musch worse than ours when its bad IIRC, Tropical Cyclones, plus you have weird deadly critters!

At least we usually get 2-3 days notice when a Cyclone is coming, and as for deadly critters, most are more scared of you, than you of them. As long as they hear you coming they will usually move out of the way.

Sharks area different matter, if they are hungry, but swim between the flags, or inside the stinger nets. Bazza

i was just gonna post to check you were all ok. no one i know was in N. london at the time. still dont know where exactly it was. news reports just say 'north london'. bloody odd if you ask me! strange to hear the english on the news...."well dere waz zis big wind right..sounded loik a freight train" dont pronounce the 'll' in well, the 't' in right and freight,. and you too can sound like a cockney.

Think I will stay were its cold and those funky critters dont like living ;)

Yeah in seriousness I have read that many spider and snake bites are by accident as you have startled the critter.. opposed to them seaking you out.

But I like Snow ( if we get it ) at Christmas time too much Bazza to move to were its hot at crimbo, maybe I'd get used to it.. but I still love snowball fights :) the child in me has never escaped, but he's cause a few bruses and scrapes due to me not being as agile as I used to be..... :(

Can't hack the cold. Don't even own a pullover (jumper).
Only have 1 blanket that is used for a week or 2 in July (Winter).
Moved to tropical climes over 30 years ago from Melbourne / Sydney and ain't going back. Blood thins out, I reckon. Bazza

yes i does. it took me two years to feel the cold here. the first time i felt cilly, i was watching titanic and went out side for a ciggy. there was a chill blowing off the mountain and i was shivering in my sarong. now if the temp goes below 75f i feel cold.
