Torrent program that allows you to choose what files to download?

Is it possible to find a program that you can choose what files of a torrent to download? BitTorrent allows you to select which files to download "first" but I am looking to completely eliminate some files.

For example, say you are downloading a torrent of a TV show (just hypothetical, not for real).

Say you have season 2 on DVD and it contains seasons 1-5. Is there a torrent client that allows you to choose to download only seasons 1, 3-5?

    Utorrent, of course! :cool

Options>Preferences>Downloads>check box for Show a window of files contained in torrent.

When the torrent is first opened in utorrent you can select which files to skip. Or later in main utorrent window--bottom pane>choose files tab and right click a file to choose priority or Don't Download. :)

If your using the original Bittorrent client, you'll be pleasantly surprised with utorrent for ease of use.

I just wish there was a way to move the partially completed 28GB file I am downloading over to utorrent without having to restart the download. So I will probably migrate afterwards.

Stop the torrent in Bittorrent. In utorrent: Preferences>Downloads use the ... button (Next to put new downloads in) to browse to the folder BitTorrent is putting the 28GB file/folder into. Open a copy of the .torrent file in utorrent. Utorrent should check the files and take up where Bittorrent left off.

If you have enough room on the HD you could copy the 28gb folder to be absolutely sure it isn't overwritten. Although it is highly unlikely.

just make sure whatever file your downloading is in an already video format

to the best of my knowledge i think if the file is say for example in a win rar format you must download it all then extract

also depends sometimes on the actual format of the file

eg sometimes the person who creates it may have one or two eps in one file
    very rare but still possible

best of luck though i use u torrent and its great

What do I do if there is no torrent file on the computer? I opened it and it started bittorrent so there isn't anything in the folder...

You could go back to the site and redownload the .torrent and save to disk. Then right-click and choose which program to open it or in Utorrent File>Add Torrent.

Haven't used Bittorrent in a very long time but other clients save a copy of the .torrent in a folder. Start>Run>type in %appdata% In window that opens look in the .bittorrent folder for a copy of the .torrent file. I am not sure that one will exist.
