Toshiba Finger print utility issues

Hi,
I have been having issues with my fingerprint utility for the last week or so, when trying to unlock the screen it has been taking longer and longer to comeback and now times out before it comes up. I have uninstalled it and downloaded the latest version from the toshiba website. unfortunately this latest version won't install.. it unzips and comes up with a screen saying 'program will make changes do you want to allow' I click yes and nothing happens..
the download is tc00407400c.exe ...

can anyone shed any light on what I am doing wrong or is there somewhere else I can get this from?

toshiba satellite pro S500 110C running win 7 32 bit

Are you running the .exe as Administrator?

 

I have been in security for 6 years and i can tell you one thing about Finger print scanners.They are very touchy and problematic.

Have you tried to re-scan your finger print.

 

I wasn't yesterday but I have tried again this morning and nothing seems to be happening still.

screen asking if the program can make changes to the computer, answer yes, screen goes away but nothing actually happens..

 

Hi, it wasn't the reading of the fingerprint that was the issue, it was the fact i was getting the prompt to scan my finger coming up. I have uninstalled the software and am now struggling to reinstall it :-(

 

Please look and see if your Finger Print scanner is listed under the Device Manager/Other Devices section.

What you might have to do here is completely remove any kinda trace that was left be hind

I can't see anything that looks like a fingerprint scanner in device manage - there isn't an 'other devices' in there but i have been through all the other entries

sorry been away on vacation.
I have a restore point from before I removed the software, is it worth going back to that?
I removed it because it was taking ages to come up when I wanted to log in, if I go back to the restore point won't this issue still occur? Does anyone have any thoughts on what could rectify this error?
