toshiba laptop issues

Hi,
The model on this toshiba laptop is A75-S226

I can't connect to the internet(This page cannot be displayed,cannot find server error) even though my wireless network says it's connected to the optimum wifi hot spot, the signal strength is only two bars, but I've been able to connect to hotspots that had 1 bar before. I connect find using my cable modem with the usb wire though.

Also when I turn on my wireless connection the laptop freezes after a couple of minutes. The cursor does not move, I can't do anything except power off.

When I connect my printer to the left usb port it will not connect, I have to jiggle the wire up and hold it so the usb port recognizes that I have something connected to it. It's not the printer, because I tried to connect other hard ware on that left usb port and I get the same result.

I think your USB port is related to the cable being bad or loose wires in the cable.

As for your wireless crashing I would try to update your drivers and see if that helps. It could be a heat issue. Does your laptop crash with the wireless turned off?

 

I tried different cables connecting different hardware to the usb port same result.

My laptop does not freeze when the wireless switch is off.

 

Sounds like the USB ports are loose.

I updated the drivers for the atheros ar5004g and the same problem freezing when the wireless switch is on. And also could not connect to the internet even though the wireless connection said connected. I uninstall win sp3 and went back to sp2 to see if that would help. I was able to connect to the internet via wirless to a hotspot, however, comp still freezes because the wireless switch is on. When it's off, zero freezing problems.

 

i notice it freezes when something else pops up. For example a popup telling me my battery was getting low, computer freezes. I was trying to access a video and I click the wrong thing and a popup came up telling me that, computer freezes. Another instance, I get a comodo popup telling me this is trying to access this, computer freezes. And all this freezing happens only when my wireless is turned on. When I get those error popups while my wireless is off no freezing.

 

I updated my 2004 bios with the latest 2009 bios to my laptop, but that didn't help the freezing problem. This will be a tough one to figure out, any help would be appreciated. Thanks
