Toshiba Laptop, no "Fn" functions

Hey guys, I have a Toshiba Satellite M30-704 laptop. Whilst i was trying to fix a problem, i removed a lot of stuff and since then, I cant use the "Fn" + the F keys for different things like brightness.

Ive tried different drivers, but I cant seem to get it to work.

Can anyone help me out here? Cheers guys

Sounds like you removed the "Hot Key" program that came with the computer...to reinstall it, you will probably find it on the CD/Floppy that came with the system, or try downloading it from their website.

nope that hotkey installation doesnt work. oh well. i know what i need to look for now.

theres some butons seperate to the keyboard on the side, they got an "i" , AND ANOTHER HAS A TV OUTPUT SYMBOL, ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO GET THEM TO WORK?

 

You didn't mention whether or not you already have a copy of the user manual; if not, you can download the user manual from here:

Open the .ZIP file; you'll see the manual with the name "SM30_EN.pdf". Copy that file to your Desktop; if you have Adobe Acrobat installed, you'll be able to open the manual to Chapter Five, which has some information about the various keys. You might find a clue in there as to how to restore the keyboard to work the way you want it to. There are a few other references to the keyboard in the Index, which might be helpful, if all else fails.
