    I have a Toshiba Sattelite M35X S329 laptop.

Kept receiving fatal hard disk drive error message, then would no longer boot.
Did write down message code one time:

    *** STOP: 0x000000F4 90X00000003, 0X8A661778, 0X8A6618EC, 0X805FB1D6)

Since, I don't understand the above, I went out and bought a Seagate Momentus LP 500 GB/GO Sata 2.5" notebook drive.

The bios is not recognizing the hdd. Any suggestions?

Your laptop shows as using an IDE (ata) hard drive, so how did you manage to fit a s-ata hard drive ?
The original fault could be memory problem (ram)
    Try another bit of ram.
Let us know about the s-ata hard drive.

same size as the old one. only 2 screws to attach.
I could only find internal sata drives for notebooks.
    Will check the ram.

Yeah. Put the original hdd back in. Then put in the original 512 memory stick and it works now!!. Thanks for the suggestion. Now I have to put the other ones in one at a time to see if only one is bad or if both are.

Again, thanks a million. Now I get to return the sata drive..
