My Toshiba dealer does not know anything officially from Toshiba, as yet.

I have emailled him the links that Halo provided.

Tecra A7 gets a mention on the USA link. Damn, I can't access either of the links as I get a javascript error. Will check with Toshiba in OZ. Thanks Halo. Bazza

Thanks, Halo. Have downloaded that link. :)
I am running on AC only (battery removed), so will check it out when I logoff and shutdown.
My Toshiba shop boss came back to me and said it doesn't relate to Tecra A7's, in OZ. Mainly Satellite models. At least it isn't about exploding laptops, only batteries refusing to charge or hold a charge. Thanks again, Bazza

Try Halo's link in post #7 for a second opinion, on your Toshiba battery. Bazza

All of the information is in this link http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_dtlView.jsp?soid=1482876 including a small software app to test to see if your battery is one of the affected, they will not exchange batteries dues to natural wear and tear if yours is not one of the affected ones.
