A friend's Toshiba M105 S3041 laptop has been changing resolution on reboot lately. If you set it at 1280 x 800 the window proportions are correct, but after one or two reboots it reverts to 1024 x 768 on its own. I've uninstalled the display hardware and reloaded fresh drivers from the Toshiba support area (newest are from 2005 or 2006, nothing newer) but it made no difference. Is it possible the video is going bad? If so, is there a replaceable card or is it on the motherboard? Time to replace the laptop? (she absolutely hates it in 1024 x 768, it makes things look wide and fat) Thanks in advance.
