Total computer lag/slowdown

For the past few weeks I've had a total computer lag/slowdown. The past two times it was malware related. This time the malware fellas/ladies have helped me to a point where they say it's not malware. I'm not quite sure where to go from here (they sent me to Software/Hardware) :-/

- Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz 9.04GHz
- 8.00 GB RAM
- Video Card: EVGA 012-P3-1470-AR GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
- Mother Board: EVGA P55 FTW SLI 132-LF-E657-KR LGA1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel

 

UPDATE: So I ran TweakNow RegCleaner 2012, and everything works like magic.

Try running SUPERAntiSpyware (https://www.google.com/url?q=http:/...ds-cse&usg=AFQjCNGPSn2SWNrhPMGB0ZeioiXETpcIaw), it gets rid of malware and tracking cookies.

Also, though I'm not a fan of TweakNOW, whatever product you use, do so on a regular basis, along with antivirus and antimalware apps - like every few days to a week depending on how much time you spend online.
