tough one

Mouse pad for anyone one who can figure this out.

- Windows 98 se - Linksys router. All other systems on network function normally.
The system can browse the internal subnet and ping no problem. Even copy files and print.
- System can ping outside the network (ie ping 66.98.158.200) including the external dns servers.
- Other systems can see it as well.
- Host file only has 127.0.0.1 in it. LMHost blank.

However it will not resolve any URL (yielding error page) nor will it connect to something like http://66.98.158.200 sometimes saying search page cannot be found, sometimes just the error page.
This also occurs with Mozilla.

- Repairing IE - No help
- Reinstalling NIC - No help
- Removing and reinstalling TCP Stack - No help.
- System has been scanned for Trojans and other malware.

Thoughts?

As for ports. Currently I have the firewall option off for testing. Howver no other machine is ahving any problem surfing.

 

Develing into some googled winsock questions I ran acrossed this -
