I need to clone my SATA HDD to a spare IDE HDD, after setting boot order and disk preference in the bios I receive an error upon boot up at BIOS stating "Can't detect TPM device".

This is a case security feature correct? I built the unit myself and didn't add any case intrusion to the chassis.

    WinXP SP3
and I think the rest is below for details on the Asus build.

    okay...

    How about this?

Isn't it possible to connect an IDE HDD to a PC that is already using a SATA HDD with the operating system so the operating system and SATA HDD can be cloned to the IDE HDD?
