Trader Joe's organic food

I knew there was one here in Armpit but just to lazy to drive there, not that it's far it's just pass the corner store I seem to have settled for lately.
Now I can kick myself. The food at Joe's is organic, not that expensive. I saw a free range chicken that looked like a turkey.
I believe they began in So. Ca. but now are in other states as well. Most of the stores in Santa Cruz are either all or at least partly organic. Haven't seen that word in any of the markets here though.

 

What bugs me more is the dilution of the meaning of the word 'Organic' by big places like Wal-Jerks. Who the heck is checking the farms, certainly not the FDA! You want a salmonella salad with that?

 

Normally I don't buy prepared foods but I think I will from them.

FDA, HA! I knew people when I was young that worked at a slaughter house that paid inspectors to ok sick animals. I doubt that has changed any, most likely got worse.

Too bad that the whole world believes in every word they write or say. I've read a lot about them. The whistleblowers had/have an awful time there. Remember Vioxx? The biggies when leaving the FDA get plump posts at pharma.

The word organic is to be taken with a grain of salt IMO. Is it 100% organic? or what % ..... take your pick.

 

I would be happy with organic simply being - no pesticides, hormones or antibiotics.
I'll have to look up Vioxx, not ringing any bells here.
