Transfer Files Through Usb or Firewire?

how do i do this?
want to transfer files from my pc to my laptop?

I have windows xp professional.

i have a linksys wireless router can i use this to do it aswell?

 

The easyest way since you have router both pc & laptop are connected to it, just create network.
Both have XP?
Both system need's own & different pc name's, both need the same work group name.
Go to control pannel, Network connections, then on the leftof page, click on: create a home or small office network, that will open the network setup wizard just follow the steps & at the end of you have option to make network setup disk, do so & run on the other pc.

Speed wise USB2 and Firewire are very close one to the other.
