Okay I have decided that due to the never ending problems that are occurring with my Desktop running Win XP SP3, that it is time for a new PC running Vista :)
I have copied all our 1000's of photos onto my USB External drive (vista compatible) and want to know if they will transfer onto my proposed new Vista desktop?

Then I can take a sledgehammer to this one ;)

There shouldn't be any trouble plugging an external drive into VISTA. If I was you, I'd also think about backing up your photos to CD's, or DVD's, just as a further precaution. Photos are irreplaceable and a second backup of them won't go astray. Bazza

I always burn the photos from my card directly to a CD before I start tweaking them. That way, if the camera card goes south or the computer dies, I have the original unedited photos archived.

    Thanks for the tips/advice :)

I have now burned all photos onto 2 DVD's and put away until i get my new PC.
