Transfer Folders/Apps to New User Acct

I have created a new user acct. for my roommate. I/we don't really care much for IE, and I'd like to add Google Chrome, and FF for her, to let her choose her own browser. Plus I'd like to add some other apps for her, and transfer some of her personal info that she's been storing on my administrative acct. (i.e. personal photos and such). So, like I said the account is set up. But when I go to use Chrome, it won't open. It, along with other apps are listed in the list of "approved" applications under the parental control list. (Application Restrictions List) But they either don't show up when searched for,( in her acct.) or won't open and operate. One other example is Faststone Capture. And then, I've got one application, Yahoo, "Unchecked", and yet there it is in her account, AND IT WORKS! I do not get it. The purpose to setting up an account for her was to only restrict that she couldn't delete, or uninstall anything on the computer. I don't care, (obviously within reason) what she installs, but NO TAKING AWAY! lol Here is a screen shot of the restrictions list:

So, here I sit, wondering what I did wrong, or forgot to do in order for these to work. I don't care if Yahoo works or not. But her photos being transferred, Chrome/FF working, and Faststone Capture working, are a priority for me. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate any advice.
    Thanks!

My acct. is an Administrator Acct. The one I am creating for her is a Standard User Acct.

I thought this was supposed to be a "help & support" line, not some spam center? Not getting any help with this problem anyways, so I guess it really doesn't matter. But it's sure hard to tell people this is a site with a good reputation when the ONLY answer I get is some SPAM CRAP!

Unfortunately spam happens all the time. We cannot prevent in here, only remove it when it crops up.

Going back to your origional problem, I am assuming you are running Vista. It may be better to leave using parental controls and switch to security options for each program. To do this, right-click the folder containing the program in question (normally found at C:\program files\[publisher name]\) and choose "properties". The click on the security tab, and click edit. This will allow you to specify exactly which actions your rommate is allowed to take and not take.

If you click "add" to add a new user, and type in the account name of your roommate, then click "check names", then click OK, the account should appear in the list at the top of the window. Then, in the bottom section of the window, you can specify that your roommate is allowed to "read" the folder, is allowed to "write" to the folder, but is not allowed to "delete" the folder. This can be applied to the "program files" folder to prevent your roommate from deleting anything, and could be applied to a specific program (all programs in Windows end with .exe) to prevent use of the program by denying read/write access.

If this is a little confusing post back and I will give a better explanation.

1st let me apologize for my tirade. I have no idea where that came from, and I'm sorry for it. I'm certain that there are legions of pathetic bastards out there that use services such as this, knowing that by posting in these forums, that they are bypassing an individuals spam filters. If only there were a way to irritate them, as much as they irritate us.

2nd, you are correct, I am using Vista. Ultimate, if that makes any difference, but I'm sure not. As I read through your post, if I'm understanding you correctly, what we're doing is manually working around the parental permissions "check list" in the Control Panel. Which, if that's correct, then it will accomplish what I want to. After walking through your directions, here is what I've come up with, with regards to the Google folder:

    http://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr114/Odean_H/deb1.png

The list of options that I see from top to bottom are as follows: Full Control, Modify, Read & Execute, List Folder contents, Read, Write, & Special Permissions. I did not see an option to "delete" anything from the folder in this section.

Now, as I read further along, are you suggesting, that I could utilize this process to the entire Program Files folder? Or, would you rather that I submit permissions for each program she is allowed to have, individually? I actually think I would prefer the latter, so that I don't accidentally give her permissions for something, she has no need for to begin with. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this detail, if you could.

Otherwise, if you've viewed the image I've posted, and think that this approach will accomplish my end goal, then I think that this would complete my need for any further help, with regards to this issue.
