transfer outlook 2007 to thunderbird?

i am on windows xp and im going to upgrade to windows 7. all of my business email settings are on outlook 2007 and im wanting to transfer all my emails and also login details because i lost my passwords. So basicly i want to back up all my outlook stuff including the login details, so that i can reinstall windows then put it all back on.

is there also a way of backing up my calander from outlook 2007 and transfering it to sunbird?

 

Outlook has an Export facility on the File menu and Thunderbird has an import facility which in version 2 is on the Tools menu. You will be using version 3 though but I can't help with that.

Export and Import should enable you to get everything across using a flash drive as intermediary.
