Transferring Old Computer To New Computer

I want to get a new laptop my current one is 6 plus years old and starting to have problems, ie some keys don't work, and cant multitask. I want to be able to basically clone my old computer to the new computer and move everything over, do I need a software to do this? Dell has a software the are offering for like $50, but couldn't I just connect the computers and copy and past the C drive or copy the C drive to an external then copy it to the new computer? How do people transition from old laptop to new? I don't do anything cloud, so that isn't an option

Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics with shared graphics memory - not sure if this graphics card is good or if I should try to upgrade.

 

if you want to transfer the entire hard drive contents to another computer then you need cloning software here is a list I found https://www.geckoandfly.com/4997/disk-to-disk-clone-software-for-sata-and-laptop-hard-drive/ and there is Norton Ghost aswell but some of them are not free.

 

If you're having issues with the original computer, cloning would not help, one- you're copying those issues and two- creating new ones with the hardware changes / drivers.
PCMover is expensive, maybe try https://www.easeus.com/free-pc-transfer-software/ or Fabs is cheap (https://www.fpnet.fr/) Autobackup does migrations too. I use Fabs.
