Perhaps a cheaper method is to run audio cables from the output on your sound card, prefereably a soundcard that either has optical or coaxial outputs, to an open optical/coax connector on your receiver.

Adrynalyne: Thanks for these web sites. It looks as if this will be an expensive move. I can run a split cable sys from my comp to my HDTV TV which is about 6-8 ft from each other. My question is: Do I have to change my sound card to a card which supports both systems?? (Like a Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 Card) Also would like to transmit to a AM/FM Radio in another room or 2. I am looking for a cheap way to do this. ODIE :)

You want to transmit a FM signal from your computer, so that your radios can tune into a certain frequency and pick it up?

Theefool: What kind of cable/wire should I get?? I am looking on Ebay. Should they be noise consealing cable /wires?? Someone told me to get a splitter wire for my comp speaker. This way I could share my sound w/ comp speakers and TV. Comp & TV are only 10ft from each other. This would be the simplest way to solve this problem. Thanks for your feedback. ODIE :)

    Theefool; Its a Creative Sound Blaster Ditgal sound card w/ 1024 voices. Dell4100 Pen 3 933/133 384mb 20gb wins Xp. ODIE :)

Okay, now what kind of receiver do you have? What kind of input that is, most do not have 1/8" jacks, more than likely you will have RCA (red and white connect), perhaps coax and optical inputs.

What kind of outputs is on your computer for audio? Some of the newer models do have optical out.

Also, yes you are going to have to buy a splitter/y cable of some sort, fairly inexpensive.

Theefool: I have a Hitachi HDTV 42" TV w/ 5 rear panel outlets & one front panel outlet. I was told that I could use a splitter wire w/ comp speakers and run a line to the TV. I order a RCA 25' audio wire w/ 2 1/8 jacks on each end and a 6" splitter w/ 2 1/8 jacks on Ebay. I hope this works. Thanks for your reply. ODIE

Uhhh, I never heard of a HDTV with 1/8" jacks in it. RCA connectors, yes, but not 1/8" jacks. You are more than likely, going to have to go to a local Radio Shack and buying a GOOD 1/8" to RCA converter. Shouldn't cost you all that much.

I've been known to be wrong, but I highly doubt an HDTV to use old tech.
