How can I trap the error which is causing my USB wireless mouse to freeze at ramdom intervals? The only solution is to soft-reboot my laptop, the thumbpad still works, but no mouse. The unit willl not shutdown or restart on its own, I have to manually shut it down then restart it. The mouse will work fine for a while, then . . . nada! How can I detect where the problem REALLY is?

Very new problem. I've installed a new USB hub, (Targus PA050U - hi-spd usb2.0 4-port hub) and I have tried two different wireless mice, an old GE wireless optical mouse (mod# 98673) and a new MS wireless moble mouse 4000 (mod# 1383). When the mouse receiver is connected through the hub the mouse will freeeze after a while, but other devices still work as expected. If I place the mouse receiver in one of the two USB ports of the laptop its self it works fine. But something in the hub messes things up. I tried looking for a Windows 7 driver for the hub to no avail. I'd love to know what the problem is so I could share the problem with the Targus people. I'd really like to be able to use the hub for this connection and keep the last USB port on the laptop open for other devices.
All of which begs the question... How do you trap a logic error when it happens?
