trend micro vs. firefox help

    i got hit by a windows update to day and ever since then when i boot into windows as soon as the desktop loads i get a pop up for trend micro AV software and since this has begun my fire fox crashes regularly every time i start doing any browsing can these be related and if so how can i take care of this

    A windows update would not advertise Trend Micro AV.

    What version of windows are you running and what windows update did you install today? (KB as well as the numbers behind it)

    We use, in the IT department windows 7 (x86_64) pro and trend micro (office scan enterprise), with firefox. No issues.
