TrendMicro housecall65 disabled internet?

I used TrendMicro's housecall65 free Virus scan in the past and been very pleased. This time I may have done something different and it seems to have disabled my Internet access.

I have JAVA disabled and I beleive it asked me to install a Kernel to access the program the other way. The scan ran okay, but I was not able to access the internet while the scan was running. I thought I was able to access the internet while the scan was running in the past. When the scan was finished I had them clean the viruses and the cookies. I am still not able to access the internet.

I restored the computer to the previous day and i reinstalled Microsoft Internet Explorer, I reset my router, all to no avail. Am I missing something simple.

I notice my Internet Security icon is not displayed in the the lower right hand corner and I have received a automatic update on my virus program, but I can't seem to get out. My ISP is verizon and use a msn account. Can you help?
