So here at work some of the employee's want try use tri monitors, dual LCD's (one analog one DVI) and than use the laptop as a screen each displaying different content. I am not sure whether or not it is possible. Most the laptops are Dell D620's mounted into a docking station so it has the dual Analog and DVI outputs.
So is it possible to use 2 LCD's and the laptop screen at once. Or do i have to buy some piece of software?

Windows will support that - don't know about the hardware since I don't know the specifics. This objective is suited for PCs and not notebook, which are NOT desktop replacements, but travel computers used for presentations and the like, where the speaker watches the notebook display, while the audience watches the big screen.

More likely hardware - Multi-Monitor Laptop

It will only do dual individual displays or 2 displays and one clone. And say if you go right click on the desktop and click properties and go to settings there are only 2 screens there, only time I have seen more is in a Crossfire setup. I only found a way to was using a piece of hardware called "DualHead2Go"

Or multiple graphic cards, with 2 or 4 ports on each to support 4 or 8 monitors - XP and Vista will do it just fine. If your computer supports additional PCI slots too, you can keep adding cards and monitors and stretch your Desktop across all. ;)

BTW, I recommend Ultramon for anyone using 2 or more monitors.
