Hey, I wanted to see if something could be done... I'm looking at building a badass system soon dedicated to Counter Strike, and I was curious if I could hook up 3 monitors, and have them display 3 diff. parts of the screen. I'm gonna put a Radeon 9800 in it as well, any help?

not with current radeon drivers, I'm not even sure if there is a tri-head radeon card. Due to the lack of a tri-head ATI or Nvidia card you're pretty much stuck with the matrox parhelia. It's not a powerhouse, but it does do surround gaming. I hear runors that Matrox is poised to launch a second gen parhelia, so it might be something to keep an eye on.

You can hook three monitors up to your computer. Two of the monitors will connect to your video card. The third monitor needs to be connected to a PCI video card. Install the PCI video card drivers, reboot your system. If it doesn't boot up the PCI connected monitor, reboot and go into the bios. Once there, change your Init Display First from whatever it is on to the other setting ( ie If it is on Agp then set it on PCI and vice versa ). I have to set my bios to start the PCI before the AGP card. My AGP monitor is still the master video device though. :)

that's true, but counterstrike would only run on the primary monitor, I think he was looking for a left-center-right view from the three monitors in the same game.

Then you would be very very strange. Lol. I expect its got 3 cables, running a tri-head matrox card. If not it will be a custom video card/connector system, because i dont think standard VGA or DVI connectors can support that large a screen. I might be wrong.

I love matrox cards! I dunno why! Theyre just cool! BTW, droool @ that pic ;) so geeky!

I want one!!! the most expensive one is around £5,000, or $9,000. Thats a hell of a lot for a PC! If/when i start my own media design company, im going to have a policy to run all high intensity computing on them :p they would be SO COOL for video editing, sound editing, and crazy shiznat for games.
