When i try to install PC Tools Anti Virus Free Edition I get an alert saying Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2007 is present and it would conflict with PC Tools Anti Virus Free Edition so please uninstall it.
But the tricky part is I've never installed Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2007, in spite of knowing that I tried to search for it, I cant Find it anywhere in my PC.
    What am I missing ?

I'm curios as to how slow the PCs running ... with all those security apps one of them has to conflict with another surely?

I actually haven't had any trouble with ASC (mind you I DONT use the registry cleaner) ... agreed about Ad-Aware and Spybot.

Remember that S&D has TeaTimer and SDhelper as realtime process also ...

Two that I have found conflict with each other are Nortons Internet Security and MalwareBytes ... MBAMs scanning time increases to five times its usual with NIS running ... alhtough SAS doesn't seem to affect NIS ...

I realize this isn't the primary concern of this thread but since it was brought up, S&D Immunization and ThreatFire don't conflict. Just updated S&D with ThreatFire installed, no problems.

Did you purchase the machine new or used?
If new, may have been installed as a courtesy program by the seller.
If used, a leftover from previous owner.

Avira installed without a prob, worked fine. I liked it with Linux, but its too sensitive even my RTWlan is a suspicious program for it in XP where as the same thing is not a prob for it in Linux. Did not look any further uninstalled it.
I will give it another try, does it provide real time protection.
