tried o2 and belkin still no better off

Hi,

I switch over to o2 as my ISP a few month ago. over the last month i have been having issues with network timeouts and me not being able to connect to the internet... the problem only seems to have manifested itself on my pc... sometimes it says im connected but i am unable to access the internet.

i have contacted o2 regarding this... i now have a new router and they say i should be getting upto 15mb broadband. its currently 1.5mb with a ping of 87... previously it was 5mb with a 47 ping. O2 say everything is fine at their end and i need to check my network adaptor and my PC. I currently use the o2 wireless box III (Thompson)

I have run a few different virus scans in safe mode, they only ever seem to find tracking cookies though... not sure what else to check as far as my pc goes... it is relitively old though!!

my network adaptor is a Belkin N series F5D8053 v3... i have also contacted belkin regarding this... all i get is please replace the drivers with the most recent ones of our website and try connecting the device to another machine *which i dont have*... i have uploaded the new drivers which didnt make any difference, it has however now caused a problem with their software so i have to use windows to monitor my connections...

now im stumped

this is really frustrating and i wonder if anyone can help me sort it out!!

So you are on ADSL2+.

Are you on the O2 Access tariff

If you are there have been many reported issues recently about the services.

If the above is not relevant to you then my step one would be to check what the router stats are ie what are you synced at download and upload. Also report other stats ie Attenuation and SNRM.
