I downloaded Trillan from my IP,and absolutely loved it.When I got the 3.0 Update from Cerulean,I dug right in.This should have enhanced my chat experience.however shortly (within a day or so)after I upgraded, whenever I wanted to invite family to a personal chat, and viceversa,I was redirected to one heck of a nasty chatroom on AIM.After several failed attempts(ie:using my GoBack,re-entering chat through Yahoo, etc.,I finally contacted Cerulean Studios through their uninstall on Trillian, and reported the issue.I know I was invaded. Now I see that you have Trillian and I'm itching to seize the day!Which download,if any, can I use to prevent this attack from re-occurring.
    ;) Thanks.

That sounds like some kind of virus/spyware to me. What anti virus and spyware programs are you running? do you use any file shareing? What kind of internet connection do you have? Do you have a firewall?
I have tried Trillian, but decided that I didn't like it after about a month. However I never experianced any problems like you are describing. Chances are if you reinstall Trillian and it is Malware then the problem will return.

Just realised, I am assuming you are using Windows here (Bad me! I should never assume anything!). What is your actual Operating System?

    Hi Qwertyman66:
You assumed right.Win 98.Sorry but when the hour gets late or rather lately,early...brain get's a wee fuzzy.Lack of sleep.Lack of oxygen.I didn't consider adding any CPU stats and yep,it does help to know that if I want feedback.I'll try to keep it in mind .I'm not all that smart concerning my computer.I do have a little common sense that has gotten me this far,but in checking out the Forum Archives, there's a plethora of info for me.Oughta keep me busy for awhile.
Re my Trillian. No sharing. Not really sure what I had on this thing originally, other than Norton.I haven't located any other anti-virus although that should have been included on my Gateway Restore CD or Windows 2nd edition. It would make sense.Quantum Fireball sound like a firewall kind of name?I had to upgrade my memory back in november when I lost everything.(No back up either.Wasn't feasible timewise. From now on,I'm gonna make time.)Okay,so if my download of Trillian from my IP site supposedly was malware,I shouldn't expect the same thing in downloading elsewhere.Remember,it was only when I got the 3.0 upgrade downloaded, that things went awry.My trillian was fine before that. Since the notice showed up as soon as trillian loaded, perhaps the upgrade was bugged. No way of knowing since I uninstalled,is there?I will check on some Microsoft update for v protection.Let me know what you think.Thanks.
