Trillian

I reasonly started using Trillian to put my MSN, Yahoo, and AIM buddy list into one and was wonder about ICQ. I made an account with them but was wonder if there was another way to sign on other then with my ICQ # and how would I had friends. Can any one help me to understand ICQ?

 

Oh my god, somebody that wants to use trillian, and better yet, that wants to sign up in icq!
I use icq since 1997 so I don't know what's the sign up process nowadays, but yes, your ID is a number, simple and effective. Mine is 3304726. And it works just like the other instant messengers (in fact, icq was the first, so it is the rest that work like icq), you add people to your list by entering their number and there are ways to do it all automatically. You can look people up without having to go to a web page, and oh well, there are lots of features.

 

Trillian is an excellent piece of software...I've been using it years, and it saves having countless windows open to cover all your friends using different messenger software.

If you get an unknown Code 28 when trying to connect AIM and ICQ to Trillian, click on the HELP at the top of Trillian, and select Check for Updates.....it corrects this unknown Code 28 error, and allows you to make the connection.

 

My problem is if I was going to give my ICQ # to a friend chances are I would forget my #. (also I set up my ICQ on Trillian and put my ICQ # on the forum)

 

You have two options, memorize it, or write it down.
I did the first one.
