Major Geeks saved my other computer system about 7-months ago and now I'm back. I came into my office Friday morning and my computer was on and teh screen was displaying one of the Spyware/ Virus Removal Software viruses. I put it in safemode, turned of the proxy server that it had applied to my internet conenction and ran all of the Malware Removal Steps. I've attached the requested logs.

I tried running mgtools.exe and the little black window opened for a milisecond and was gone. It did nto give me any error readings but nothing happened. It did created the mgtools folder, but I don't see any .bat files in the c:\ drive. Should I run the analyse.exe from within the folder? Thanks for all of your help!

Please click Start, Run, and enter cmd and click OK. This will open a command prompt window. Enter the below commands at the command prompt each followed by the enter key. The bold black are commands. The purple is merely informational.
cd \MGtools <-- this changes to the MGtools folder and the prompt should change to C:\MGtools>

GetRunKey <-- this will try to run all one scan from MGtools. Tell me what error messages, if any, you see.
ShowNew <-- this will try to run all another scan from MGtools. Tell me what error messages, if any, you see.

    Thanks for the reply.

I put in cd\MGtools and nothing happened. After I put in the following two requests, they both came back with:
"The system cannot find the path specified"

Download another version of MGtools and save it to your root folder. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

MGTools worked after I restarted the computer as I had already written over the MGtools a couple fo times. Do you want to see the .txt files that came back? Or try and run MGtools again?

I am not seeing any malware in your logs. You do need to update your Java. Uninstall:
    Java(TM) 6 Update 11

    Now download and install:
    Java Runtime 6

Tell me what malware isues, if any, you are still having.

None so far, I just wanted to make sure they were really gone as I know they can bury themselves deep and I can't afford to have any more issues and/or send it to someone else. Thanks again, I really, really appreciate your help!

    You are most welcome.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.We recommend them for doing backup scans when you suspect a malware infection.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0

I am not finding any malware in your logs. What makes you think you are infected?

You still have remnants from AVG on your system. Please go here and download and run the AVG Removal Tool.

Each time I get a virus, I run through the entire process of your malweare removal steps. I just want to be sure its gone. Should I only do each sequencial step if the virus is still there after completing the last step? Thanks, I appreciate your help!

That depends. If SAS and/or MBAM is finding it and removing it, or your AV software is removing it, it probably isn't necessary to run through the whole procedure. If any of them can't remove it, then yes, do the whole procedure. Or if you are still having malware issues, complete the instructions.
