I have run AVG and it picks up Trojan Horse Dialer and Trojan Horse Dialer .12.A1 but will not repair them AVG indicates the files are in C:\windows\system32 and the 2 files are inst.exe and 124788.exe.
    Please help with removal

You may have more problems than that. You should follow all the steps in this Sticky thread < READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal >

If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.

The normal steps to try to remove files like that would be to:
    - disable system restory (see the tutorial)
    - enable viewing of hidden files (see the tutorial)
    - boot into safe mode
    - run Task Manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL) and kill the processes if found to be running.
    - then you would use Windows Explorer to delete the files:
    C:\windows\system32\inst.exe
    C:\windows\system32\124788.exe.

    Then reboot in normal mode.

"Have found the offending file on moving it to the server for storage before reloading. Grisoft calls it "Trojan Horse Backdoor Agent.4.ax" and the files were called thaqt.exe and thaqt.dat."

I just got hit bad by this one. It totally disassociated all my exe.s.... and as well, had my PC booting up of its own accord. My brother is helping me save my important data. And I am doing a total reinstall. I have never had this kinda thing ever happen to me. Hopefully we can take a few steps further into making sure it won`t happen again with the new install.
