Trojan Remover 6.4.9 Installation Problems

I'm trying to reinstall Trojan Remover 6.4.9 but now I'm getting a error saying it can not find my Trojan Remover installation directory. Any reason why this would be happening? Anyone else ever happen this happen to them? I attached a .gif of the error itself.

 

That's odd...usually an installer would create the directory for you if it didn't exist.

I'd try running CCleaner, and attempting the install again.

 

i got ccleaner, ran it and started the installer again and it gave me the same error. seems very touchy.

 

You say that you're trying to RE-install it? Do you prehaps still have it in Add/Remove programs?

Does the app have a program files folder?

 

correct. there is no program file traces of it and it's not in control panel add/remove programs

 

One last thing I can think of is that it might access a registry key that contains a directory name that it cannot find.

You could search the registry for related keys, or run a cleaner such as Lexun RegScrub XP. Just make sure that you have a good backup before you go changing anything.

 

i tried out that program. and it did find some keys that were not in use but none relating to trojan remover. i did however backup my registry before doing that and fixed other problems that were on the computer. nice find but still doesn't allow me to install trojan remover. im getting the same error as before.

 

*bump* anyone got any other ideas :?
