alright.. heres my problem ..my scan disk found a Trojan.StartPage virus in the system restore folder. it cant fix it, quarantine it or delete it.
i have tried to delete it in Safe mode, i tried disabling all other start up applications other than the essential in safe mode and i STILL cannot delete it. There is really nothing wrong with the Explorer window, it didnt change the homepage as ive read it usually does, i just CANT delete the file and i dont like the idea of having this lil bugger on my computer. if you have ANY suggestions please let me know. i have read the READ ME file at the beggining of this forum, i cant say that anything has helped. please let me know if there is ANYTHING that can be done. thank you so much.

Have you run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

After doing ALL of the above if you still have a problem:

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis log as an attachment to your message (Do not post the log inline). All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

so i am posting the HijackThis log...please let me know if there is anythin to be done. thanks alot

    Hi Starbaby22,

Norton can't fix it because System Restore is protected.

Gave HJT log a quick glance and nothing particularly evil jumped out at me. You should probably just flush System Restore by turning it Off and then On again. Turning off System Restore is one of the first steps in the Cleanup Tutorial for this very reason!

    PP :)
