    Howdy -

I just got a new computer that has vista home on it. We have a network running in the house. the network name is not the default. We use a hub to connect 2 computers. I want to add this third computer to the network but I cannot get it to recognize the network. Vista says there is no problem, yet I cannot see any other computers nor their files. Do I need to wipe off Vista and put on xp in order for this to work? I am perplexed. Trust me the network is not that complex. We use static IP address, which I changed on the IP4 side of vista, but then could not have it be a named network. I am confused.
    Any light would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is allowed to be shared.

Thank you - thank you - thank you. :major

I am on my way to actually having it work. I suspect the rest of my answer is in the rest of the documents (now to have a static ip address and not use dns parameters without loosing network name(workgroup name-vista) and still work so my software sees the pc correctly... anyway, I got it going and the printers working. Thanks again.
