I hope I am not in the wrong section to be posting this.
I am having troble posting to different links like if I am in MSN homepage and try to open something on Bing it will do nothing. Most all links I am having no luck opening. I have ran scans with Norton, and AVG and have found nothing. I tried Malwarebytes and it found nothing. I have Windows 7. I just had an upgrade from Internet Explorer a few days before I started having my problem. Could that be it? I could sure use some help, and I would appreciate any help given. Thanks a lot.

Here is the process as listed in that Microsoft Support article:

Tried your post on all the dll`s and none worked. Thanks for trying to help anyway. I really appreciate it.

Thank you,

Sorry that did not work. :(

My first thought was that it is due to a broken file type association, but the MS Support page suggested otherwise.

The default program associated with extension HTML is Internet Explorer.

I have not used Windows 7 so I can't tell you from experience how to do this, but I think you need to
check and possibly reset the HTM and HTML association.

This may help:

Sorry, forgot you can't use the links. :-o rolleyes

You can use copy / paste to put each address in the address field of a new tab:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/12196-open-change-default-program.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.htm

In the meantime, you could use K-Meleon browser - it's small and fast.

Binkyboy, I had a thought after spending over an hour helping someone with a NEW computer with Win 7 and not being able to download MS Security Essential, clicking links doing nothing and parts of pages blank (MS page for addons to change from Bing to Google).
Windows 7 comes with two versions of IE 9, a 32 bit and a 64 bit version. The 64 bit version has problems.
Go to your windows (start button) and show all programs. Launch IE not IE (64 bit) and see if things work.
