Trouble downloading PhoTransit

I know I could use Word's INSERT SYMBOL for writing IPA symbols but it is very slow and tedious way, especially when needing the IPA a lot. I came across this website, which with limited time available would be an absolute godsend, but I have trouble with standard and WinZip downloads. :cry

The Windows installer package seems to have downloaded successfully but when I want to run it I get the following message: .

"This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verfy that this is a valid Windows installer package."

The zip file only gets as far as 645KB out of 8 MB before I get the following message:

"C:\DOCUME~1\...\LOCALS\Temp\8jwVOOdo.zip.part could not saved, because the source file could not be read. Try again later, or contact the server administrator."

However, as this is a free program, it isn't supported... would anyone know some sort of workaround?

I have WinXP (media 2005) edition.

(I know I can find similar programs that run online, but with slow - 8MB takes about 30 min to download - expensive and erratic Internet connection it isn't ideal. Most of the nation isn't connected here, and net cafes are far and few in between in countryside, so the desktop application would be ideal for the English teachers, once they have learned the corresponding sounds of IPA.

 

I pasted some of the text about the program into Words 2000 and 2007 but they don't show correctly - does that mean that I haven't got Unicode installed? In that case, where can I get it?

I should have added that I can see them fine in Firefox and I assume viewing in other browsers would be the same?
