Trouble Installing Bioshock

I bought Bioshock and I am having a hell of a time getting it installed. First, I had the avg problem and I ended up calling tech support. Found out I had to completely to uninstall AVG. Now, I can't get my activation code to work.

Anyone else buy this game and have problems installing it?

specs if you need them:

AMD Turion 64 2.4 G
2 Gb RAM
Nvidia Geforce Go 7900 GS

 

You're far from the only one. There's a ton of info about how people are having DRM issues with (un)installing. I think the guy at tweakguides.com has help, and also try the official troubleshooting pages here.

 

Yeah, I found about all the other problems when I was checking the forums at their site. The only way I was able to activate the game was to email an unlocking request code to tech support so they could send back an unlocking code so that I could manually activate the game. Fortunately, I sent them the email around 1 am last night and they responded within 15 minutes. That's the only good thing that has happened with this game so far(still haven't played it yet).

This whole process has been pretty ridiculous. Hopefully the game will be worth it.

I recently read an article where one guy had the same troubles and e-mailed 2K. They responded by telling the person to contact the SecuROM people. So he did. Guess where they sent him? Back to 2K.

 

That's typical. lol

And yes, the game is absolute awesomeness......once you get to play it.
