    Hey guys,

I am running Vista Buisness. I am trying to install office '07. Having a difficult time.

It gets started, and I get an error saying setup cannot continue... I thought it was the Office Source Engine, but I don't think thats the issue anymore as it doesn't show up in the event viewer.

I even reinstalled windows and still no dice... Heres what I get in the Event Viewer.

Product: Microsoft Office Shared MUI (English) 2007 -- Configuration failed.

Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Microsoft Office Shared MUI (English) 2007. Product Version: 12.0.4518.1014. Product Language: 1033. Reconfiguration success or error status: 1603.

Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error querying for the IVssWriterCallback interface. hr = 0x80070005. This is often caused by incorrect security settings in either the writer or requestor process.

    Operation:
    Gathering Writer Data

    Context:

    Writer Name: System Writer
    Writer Instance ID: {24e3435a-c845-4a44-b6cb-0ccc26a3262b}

Any ideas? I've tried to "run as adminstrator" as well with no luck.

    Thanks!

    Need more Info
Is this Office OEM version or did you buy it retail
Is it an upgrade or a full version
Microsoft made some changes to help stop piracy of their product

    Its retail, clean install.

I tried it without entering the key, and it proceeds to do the same thing.

Error seems to, in a general sense, refer to a failed copy command, so it just might be a bad CD. You could try copying the contents of CD to a folder on the hard drive, and try installing from there. If the files fail to copy, contact MS for a replacement CD
