trouble uninstalling norton security 2008

    Hi. I am sorry for posting this on the welcome page, but every forum I have gone to says they are not accepting new subscribers, and apparently unless you subscribe to them you cannot post. I appreciate your time.
    I am trying to get Norton security 2008 out of my computer because it is screwing up my ability to go to pokerstars.com, as well as a lot of other things. I tried downloading the free version of perfect uninstaller that you guys promote on this site, but it takes me half way, and then says I have to purchase the product in order to finish. I have uninstall tool on my computer but that won't work either. I tried downloading nortons uninstall software, but it won't work. Any advice?

    I was just looking in the download section and the only thing I see for "Perfect Uninstaller" is a google ad. Make sure that you don't click to install "advertisements" on here.

    Just to be clear, have you gone into your Add/Remove Programs to uninstall it? And when you say you have the uninstall tool, are you talking about the 'Norton Uninstall Tool'? http://www.majorgeeks.com/Norton_Removal_Tool_SymNRT_d4749.html

    I was unable to install the norton uninstall tool. I just have a free download uninstaller called the uninstall tool. Yes, I did try doing the add and remove thing from my start menu, but norton seems to block everything I try. I am really bummed. I am laid off for this month and I love to play poker. I am able to access full tilt, but its not as nice as poker stars. I appreciate your trying to help. I will try the link that you put in your response. Thanks again and have a great day.

    by the way thanks for warning me about the ads. No wonder it didn't work.

    Good luck.

    There is an employee of Symantic (Norton) that comes into the forums and he has said the best way to remove it is to use the Removal tool I linked you to, reboot your computer and use the tool again.
