trouble viewing some sites

hello, i am a first time poster, if that is the correct term. i am having a problem viewing some sites. eg you tube, the videos will not play, yet i can watch videos on break.com, videovat. also i cannot view webcam sites. eg. times square new york. i used to be able to view these and i dont know of anything that changed in my enviornment that would cause this. any suggestions out there. thank you. i am running windows xp sp2

 

It sounds like you need a Flash player update and possibly a Java update. Visit www.macromedia.com for Flash player, and www.java.com for the Java. You might as well do 'em both, you can't hurt anything. Also, be sure that you're Internet Explorer settings are at default (Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced > Restore Default. Uncheck the 'reset home page' box if you want to keep your same home page). Hope this helps

thanks for the advice, i did as you said, now it all works in mozilla but not in internert explorer 7, so i think internet explorer 7 is the problem. at least i can view in another browser.
