If you think ZoneAlarm is causing this issue, then turn off ZA, and try to open it.

I just read over your issue on the other thread.

Do you have a hardware firewall? I.E. router?

    Not that I know of.

    * I turned off ZoneAlarm and it's working now. How do I configure it to work with ZA though.

You have to configue port 6881 in ZoneAlarm for Azureus to work by default.

How do I configure the port?

In ZoneAlarm, click on Firewall on the left-hand side.

On the main tab, click on "custom" on the Internet Zone Security.

In the pop-up box, click the Internet Zone tab, and under the heading "High security settings for internet zone", scroll down to

    Allow incoming UDP ports

    Allow outgoing UDP ports

Highlight each one, and enter the port number 6881 for each then click apply then OK.

If you enter more than one port, they must be separated by a comma,.

You can select any port you want, but they must match up with Azureus in Tools, Options. 6881 is the default.

We must have a different version.

    What version do you have?

I suggest you read the help file on how to configure a port.

I got a message the other day saying there was an update and it downloaded the newest version.

In "help" for adding custom ports, it also mentions a "custom" button.

The closest thing I found in ZA is "overview" -> "preferences" and in "options" there's a mention of proxy configuration. But I doubt that's it.

    See if this works:

    1. Start Zone Alarm Control Center
    2. Go to Program Contol tab
    3. Choose the Prorgams Tab
    4. Make sure that javaw.exe row has either checks or question marks in the access and server columns. If there is a red cross in these columns click on the box and choose "Ask". Choosing "Allow" will also work, but this will allow all programs running on Java access to the Internet -- which is not recommended.

    Let us know.
