Trouble with DVD Audio

Lately I've been trying to burn DVDs. I have converted them from .avi to mpeg-2 with WinAVI, and they look great on the computer. I burned them to a dvd-r disc using the default windows movie maker, but I find that there is about a second of audio lag when I play the DVD on my TV. Any help would be great, I've made sure the audio/video are lined up completely on my computer before the burn.

    Thanks,

First off. What are your pc specs. What kind of burner are you using? How old is the drive?

Alright, I'm running Win7 x64, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz, 4 GB of RAM. Drive is a USB Liteon iHAS422 2009 model.

Try using http://majorgeeks.com/DVD_Flick_d5530.html to burn your disks.

You didn't say if you were using a desktop computer or a laptop but I'm going to presume you're using a laptop because you're using a USB drive.

If you're using a desktop computer then I would suggest getting an internal DVD burner.

I'm actually using a desktop, my internal drives broke though, so the USB drive is all I have left. Thanks for the input and the link, I'll give it a shot and tell you what I find!

I was going to suggest DVDflick also. I used it exclusively for years with not a single bad burn. I have found that while WinAVI is certainly fast, it can cause some problems when playing back burned discs. Instead of using the AVI > MPEG2 option, use the AVI > DVD option, then use the "Burn Movie" option in Ashampoo Burning Studio Free. You can also convert the AVI to DVD using BombonoDVD or FAVC or Video DVD Maker Free or use one of the tools in DVD Video Soft Studio. Once the AVI is converted to DVD format, burn it with Ashampoo (do not use the Windows DVD Maker). If you're looking to create custom DVD menus, there are numerous 'authoring' programs available for free that allow this. Check the CD-DVD Downloads or the Multimedia Downloads here at MajorGeeks....

GOOD LUCK! I hope this helps more than confuses.... rolleyes

(BTW - internal DVD burners are CHEAP! Only about $30 or so)
